Forward Manatee is a coalition supporting the renewal of the 1 mill tax on property to support schools. The proposal was renewed in November 2021, after first passing in 2018. The 1 mill made a big impact in our schools over the last 6 years. Every dollar raised with this renewal will stay right here in Manatee County. An independent citizens’ oversight committee watches over the allocation of funds to ensure that they are properly spent supporting our students and teachers.
This form authorizes the campaign to use the name of the organization and/or individual listed below in publications, letterhead, or other advertising supporting the reauthorization of the 1 mill for Manatee County students and schools. The signature below is of an authorized representative of the organization or individual listed.
Take a position supporting Forward Manatee and the 1 Mill referendum renewal campaign.
Sign and return an “Endorsement” form or “Membership” form so you can be listed as a supporter.
Help by sending your members and friends an email or letter asking them to join the coalition and make a donation to help the campaign.
Provide your contact list to our campaign so we can email information about the 1 Mill referendum renewal.
Make a contribution directly from your organization or business.
Educate your employees, vendors, members or neighbors about the 1 Mill referendum renewal campaign and the upcoming election.
Write a letter to the editor.
Identify and donate sign locations, billboards, advertising space or marquee space.
Display a sign at your business, home or properties you have access to.
Host an event or meeting where a speaker from the campaign can come discuss the referendum renewal.
Organize your own neighborhood, employee or membership program to educate voters and get them to support the renewal.
Sign up or help us find volunteers to work at the polls on Election Day.
